Scrappy doo's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Meet Scrappy-doo. She is a 6 year old Mini Dachshund. Our family has been hit with an so many financial downfalls in the last 8 months and they just keep on coming. Scrappy started having mini seizures about a year ago. We could never pin point a cause but we had them under control with medication and she was doing well. Recently I found a lump on the side of her neck that seemed to be causing pain. We took her to the vet and determined it was a swoolen lymph node. Possibley from one of her teeth. We proceeded with antibotics to reduce any infection with plans to remove her tooth in the future. A week went by and no change. We went back to the vet again as I started to notice more and more pain. And the Lymph Node was not changing. At this point we decided to change her to steriods . Flash forward another week and the lump and gotten smaller but Scrappy is in 3 times the pain she was before and is losing mobility fast . The problem seems to be within her neck or spin. At this point this morning she looks like Bambi trying to get up and move. When I pick her up the front half of her body feels heavy .. like a wet noodle. She is going down hill rapidly. We are waiting for a referral to a pet hosptial for xrays with contrast . At this point I question if she will need a MRI instead. The thought is that she has had some sort of injury to her neck. Or possibley a tumor within her that we will not be able to see with a normal xray. We are devestated as her future tests and likely a future surgury will be more then we can afford. She is only 6 years old. She is just a baby in our eyes. We have lost two dogs in the last 4 years. One of old age. Most recently our German Shepard who died from bloat. We also have a cat who has been in and out of the vets office for two months with severe cistitus of the bladder. In August of 2017 I broke my ankle and lost work for over 5 months. Our family is in an awful position. With not much time to make a choice to save our dog or have her put to sleep. Our childern have not yet recovered from the last lost of our German Shepard and would be devestated by losing Scrappy as would I. Life has thrown us some very unfair curve balls. I have maxed out my credit cards with all the vet visits I have already had with out cat and now with Scrappy and my own injury. We are not even sure at this point how much this is going to cost in the end. I am betting even more then the starting point I posted. If anyone could spare any donation. Even 10.00 would help. If you can't donate if you could help share this fundraiser far and wide. It only takes a little donation and a lot of people to make it happen. I volunteer at South Wood County Humane Society in Wisconsin Rapids. I visit them often to provide professional pictures to update their profile pictures to help them find homes faster. There are so many in need of homes there and the shelter is always in need of support. Should we be so blessed as to have enough funds to save our girl and still have money left over we will donate to the shelter in support of medical care need to for the animals there. Please share far and wide . Every little bit helps. Our family would be so greatful for any help we can recieve as we have no idea how we are going to pay for any of this as we have nothing to pay with. We just know we don't want to lose our girl. I will be posting updates as things will be moving very fast. This morning she could hardly stand to even pee. Thank you for sharing , donating , and praying.
