Sean & Eve Carnegie Apartment Fire
Donation protected
Update as of August 23rd.
As of last night the residents of Park Ridge have received the devastating news about being under insured via the strata building insurance. This means a potential bill of $70,000 - $100,000 per unit in order to repair. This is a bill that will not be covered by insurance for many of the residents. Please help us raise funds to help them cover the repair costs and other items not fully covered by their personal content insurance.
On Saturday August 10th our friends, Sean & Eve Carnegie lost their home as their apartment building caught fire at Park Ridge in Chilliwack BC. Eve has recently traveled abroad to work overseas in Japan to teach, which has been a dream of hers ever since I can remember. Sean will be leaving Chilliwack to join her on August 27th. Thankfully their two cats were later found but they have inhaled quite a bit of smoke and were in need of medical attention.
They live on the third floor and Sean will most likely not be allowed back in for at least 2 weeks if at all in time before he has to travel. In the mean time Sean is trying to replace items that he needs to pack up their lives for living overseas for the next year that have been damaged or lost in the fire. As there was a considerable amount of water damage it is likely that they will need to replace everything in their apartment. This includes clothing, suit cases, toiletries, food, cat food/ supplies, computers needed for working as Sean will be working remotely, and the list goes on. The most urgent needs are simple items like clothing and toiletries that Sean needs.
If you are able to help in any capacity I know they would greatly appreciate it in this stressful time. Thank you in advance for your support.
