Seaside Community School is situated in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It is in one of the poorer village areas of Seaside.
This village - like most of the island - was hit hard by Cyclone Pam on Friday, 13th March 2015.
As most of the students have lost their homes and possessions this is making it very difficult for the children to attend school with the right resources. Many are without uniforms, stationery and food. This isn't just due to the cyclone - as it's sadly normal for many - but since the cyclone things are increasingly difficult.
School can be the only place many children get a meal, clean their teeth and learn basic skills.
We are trying to raise monies to keep the children at school, relieve some finanical pressures for their families/villages and to help them further their education.
As little as $15 AUD can purchase a childs uniform, many lost theirs when the water rose after the cyclone. $5 AUD would be enough to purchase some pencils and a ruler for another child. As the saying goes "it all adds up".
This week go without take away, don't buy your coffee each day or why not show your family how to give back to other families who are in much need.

A uniform allows a child to keep attending school, which allows their parents more time to spend rebuilding their homes and their gardens. Once gardens are up and producing this family can then sell goods to others, therefore they can begin to earn income again. Literally, your money will impact many, many in the Seaside Village and in fact Port Vila as a whole.
