SecKC: Hacking Hunger
Tax deductible

SecKC, Kansas City's Hacker Hive , as part of the Hack Hunger movement, wants to give back to our community! We know that the continuing Government shutdown is affecting millions of people, including some of our members, and stretching our local food pantries to their limits. We want to do what we can to help alleviate that. To that end, we are asking our members to make a donation to the Harvesters Community Food Network. Every dollar donated can help Harvesters provide up to three meals for a needy family in the Kansas City area!
Every attendee at the February SecKC meeting who can show proof they contributed to this GoFundMe, or brings a donation of cash, basic hygiene products (soap, shampoo, pads, tampons, toothpaste), or non-perishable food will receive a shiny new Bob or Alice lapel pin! (Furloughed government employees and contractors also get a pin and lots of love!)
More information about Harvesters - The Community Food Network: Harvesters—The Community Food Network has been our region’s solution to hunger for 38 years, serving as the community’s link between an abundant food supply and people in need. Our mission is to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow. As the region’s only food bank, Harvesters’ expertise in distributing food and related products through our network of more than 620 nonprofit agencies is essential to communities across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. In partnership with emergency food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, daycare and senior centers, we offer more than 1,200 programs for food-insecure children, families, and seniors across 26 counties.
