Help Jacob Fight Leukemia!!!!!

Jacob is a 14 year old from Palermo and China Maine who is battling Leukemia for the second time.
Jacob was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on January 15, 2018. He endured ICU, intubation, three rounds of chemotherapy, innumerous bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures and so many blood transfusions. In May 2018 he fought through bone marrow transplant
at Boston Children’s Hospital and was able to return home in July 2018. He spent 5 of the 1st 7 months of 2018 in patient at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and Boston’ Children’s. Jacob has been under isolation at home and healing and recovering from transplant. He had just started to have his restrictions lifted in November. 
On January 2, 2019 Jacob went for a routine follow up at Maine Children’s Cancer Program and after his blood work was run it was apparent that his cancer had returned. 
Today we received initial results back from Jacob’s bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture. His Acute Myeloid Leukemia is back. And this time time his leukemia is also in his cerebrospinal fluid. We are awaiting results from Seattle and it may be Monday before we get their lab results. Jacob will be having surgery tomorrow to have a new central line put in. What we do know is that Jacob will be starting chemo therapy within the next few days and once he is in remission will have a second bone marrow transplant.

There are so many unknowns right now. As much as we wish we didn’t need to -we have to ask for help. Jacob has been fighting Leukemia for a year already and now has an even tougher battle ahead of him.

Jacob is one of five children in his blended family including brother Shawn (16), sister Achiva (11), brother Joe Joe (8) and sister Bella (4). His mom is Heather Seigars, his dad is Joe Seigars and his bonus mom is Nastassja Seigars. 

All money donated will go directly to our family across both households. These donations will be used for gas, tolls, hotels, food while traveling and at the hospital and any uncovered medical expenses. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
