Send DHS Track & Field to Nationals
Donation protected
Derby High School's Track & Field athletes have built a tradition of excellence on the track, in the field and in the classroom. Not only have these boys and girls hung team championship banners in the gymnasium, they have also earned individual name recognition for their accolades, as well.
Most recently, the boys' team won the 2017 NVL Track & Field championship after compiling a perfect 14-0 regular season record, while the girls' team completed the most successful regular season in school history, finishing the regular season with a record of 11-3.
It is quickly becoming the norm at Derby High School to hold ceremonies as many of these athletes sign National Letters of Intent to continue running on the collegiate level. These runners are getting noticed on the national level by competing in local, regional and national invitational meets. That is why it is so vitally important for these athletes to compete in North Carolina next month.
So far in 2017, Derby has seven athletes that have already qualified for the New Balance High School Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Greensboro, NC, with the strong possibility of adding more Derby athletes to the trip in the coming weeks.
In order to send these athletes to Nationals, we need to raise the money necessary to fund this trip, which includes transportation, lodging, event entry fees and food for our athletes.
This will be an amazing experience for our athletes to not only compete at the highest level possible in high school, but also to gain competitive experience and collegiate exposure. Please consider donating to support our athletes!
