Send Mark to CES 2017!

Hello! This is Mark Rollins, and I have been a full-time freelance writer for the past ten years. Much of my work has been about technology and consumer electronics. I am currently a writer for The Geek Church and Geekscape .
Since 2008, I have attended CES in Las Vegas. If you are not familiar with Consumer Electronics Show, it is a huge expo that gathers together the big names in consumer electronics from across the world! The event is held during the first week of January, and this year it will be held on January 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Venetian Hotel/Casino, and other places throughout the city.
Unfortunately, I recently lost a major source of income last October, and unless I can find some way to finance the trip, as well as my stay in Las Vegas, I will have to stay home from CES this year. Considering that I have attended CES for the past eight years, I would be very left out of the tech business if I had to stay home. Throughout the years, I have made a lot of business contacts and have reported on some of the latest in technology from the CES showfloor.
Chances are, you are a person that I have worked with before in a business arrangement. You have probably sent me something to review, and I have written about it. IF YOU DONATE $40 TO MY CAMPAIGN, I WILL PERSONALLY VISIT YOUR BOOTH AND WILL WRITE ABOUT WHATEVER NEWS YOU WISH TO OFFER AT CES 2017. That is a promise that I will make to you, and you should definitely set up an appointment. The blogs that I write for get about 35,000-40,000 hits per month, so you would greatly benefit from my visit.
If you are looking at this page because you are friends and family, and I would appreciate your donation to this cause. I would want to find a way to give back to you if you wish to give back to me. As a writer, I am able to create content, and I would want to apply my talents to help you.
In case you are thinking that I am using these funds to support a week of gambling and other "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" fun, I am not. My trip to CES is all business, and I am constantly on the floor gathering as much information as I can so I can report on it later. In fact, I would have to say that my annual trip to CES in Las Vegas is when I work the hardest.
I am asking for $3,000 to cover a hotel, the trip down, as well as my work after the conference. I figure that that hotel will cost $1,000 for a week's stay, and I am not planning on staying in an expensive room on the strip. I am also planning on renting a car and driving down, so another $1,000 should cover the gas and other expenses on the way. As for the last $1,000, it will literally take me the month of January to cover everything that I will glean from CES 2017, and that should cover my salary.
