We are Pamela Richard and Shilene Cobbs, Co-Founders, Executive Director and COO of PS Serving Veterans and the Community (PSSVC). We are a veteran-owned 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. PSSVC, at its core, is an emergency food pantry that is providing items to families in need. We are serving the members of the community biweekly and may increase frequency as we see more demand. PSSVC is dedicated to helping Veterans and the community.
The mission of PSSVC is to eliminate hunger in our community and surrounding areas by acquiring and providing food for those residents who seek our aid. To accomplish this mission we will effectively utilize community support and advocacy programs. These programs will provide food and nutritional education that lead towards self-sufficiency as well as improve community health and sustainable food systems.
We are writing to ask for your support in helping our organization. For PSSVC to maintain a high level of service, we are looking for financial assistance to cover our operational and overhead costs. We currently have a partnership with Little Caesars Pizza & Feeding America to supply FREE PIZZA every Monday & Friday to Veterans and the Community.
Your donation will go towards helping us purchase food from the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. We are feeding between 150-200 families with around 7,000lbs of food monthly. Any donation will help; as little as $1 can help provide food for a family of four for up to a week.
