My name is Annabelle Elder and I'm a senior communication major at Trine University. This semester, I have an amazing opportunity to go on a study abroad trip to London for a week with my classmates after I complete a Global Understanding in Health and Wellness course through Trine in May. During this class, we will learn about international health practices and complete a comparative analysis between the United States and World Health Organization, as well as holistic health and wellness practices.
We will get first-hand experience about how health and wellness is treated internationally and be able to make connections with what we've learned in class. We will also gain new international health perspectives. Finally, we will personally have the opportunity visit health and sport related insitutions.
Some other amazing aspects of this trip is that we will have the opportunity to tour historical and cultural landmarks, visit world class Olympic sport facilities including London’s Olympic Park and the Windsor Castle, Soccer Stadium, Big Ben, London Bridge, Parliament and much more.
As a communication major who is pursuing a career in travel public relations, this trip would allow me to use intercultural skills learned from classes, practice international public relations skills, network, as well as gain new perspectives. I will also be able to connect communication to the health industry and see how London treats health communication is seen by the public.
However, I work three jobs, attend school full time, and am very involved with dance team, as well as my sorority Gamma Phi Epsilon.
I fully support myself and there are bills, expenses, and rent to be paid.
Though I am working every minute of free time I have to save up for the trip, I still need a little support.
I have a remaining balance of $1,400 for the trip and my goal is to raise as much of it as I can through fundraising efforts! Your support would mean the world to me!
Any funds given by generous donors would go towards lodging, train fare, grounds transportation, tours and food. I would be very grateful for anyone to even consider donating to my page.
I will continue to update the page frequently to show what we are learning and how we are preparing for the study abroad trip!
My deadline to turn in funds is March 30th, so I'd like to be finished raising money by March 27th. Any small amount of donations helps! Thank you! :)
