New nonprofit 501-c3 Shannon Air Museum brings back aircraft collection to Fredericksburg VA.

A collection of 20 rare aircraft displayed at the recently closed Virginia Aviation Museum in Richmond have returned home to Shannon Air Museum.

Among the planes are the only known surviving Vultee V-1A, a SPAD VII biplane fighter from World War I, a Pitcairn PA-5 Mailwing and a Bellanca CH-400 Skyrocket. They will be displayed in the New Shannon Air Museum at Shannon Airport in Spotsylvania County,
3380 Shannon Airport Cir, Fredericksburg, VA 22408

The collection features aircraft from World  War I through the technology of the early 1940s,  which laid the groundwork for the planes of World War II. The aircraft have been beautifully restored and will take visitors back to the golden age of aviation.

Please donate to help preserve these vintage aircraft as artifacts for future generations and as part of America's aviation history.
