ShareacinowithSkylar
Donation protected
On the morning of Sunday October 15th, we woke up at Katherine Gorge as we had been away on a mini family holiday, the kids Skylar 33 months, her twin Sister 33 months and her brother 4.5 years were climbing up on the bunk beds and running a muck before breakfast.
We would never of thought that this mini holiday was going to be our last as a family of 5….
What is this nightmare………… Meningococcal ‘B’ strain
We have started this awareness campaign 'shareacinowithSkylar' to share our story and help families understand the seriousness of this disease.
Unfortunately, the symptoms are not specific, they are very generic like if you had a viral infection or gastro, the bloody bruises are a very specific sign but in Skylars instance it was too late.
We as parents need to protect our kids, in this instance we couldn’t, but if we knew of the disease and the vaccine available we could have had the option.
Meningococcal ‘B’ is the most common type of meningococcal and a preventable disease with an available vaccine.
We need YOUR support to get this vaccine on the immunisation schedule Australia wide, We are not going away and will continue the campaign until it is included on the schedule as no children or familys deserve to go through this pain when its preventable.
Any donation you can give is greatly appreciated, this money is going to go towards babycino cups, balloons, stickers, advertising costs anything and everything that will help put our campaign in the public eye and make the Federal Government respond.
