Help Sherri Fight Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Mike Rinehart and my beautiful wife's name is Sherri Rinehart and in October of this year, my wife discovered that she has a mass on her right ovary. After surgery two days ago we learned that she has metastatic cancer in her entire abdonmen and G.I. tract at the age of 41. We are all devastated as you can imagine and are only going to receieve 2000 dollars a month from her jobs disability. My wife is an awesome sales rep for NVR Homes or Ryan Homes. She is a true people person and has excelled at her job in every aspect.
I am a police officer of 10 1/2 years who is also currently out of work due to a back injury that happened off the job which has taken its toll on me physically and mentally for that matter. I used all of my sick, vacation and comp time caring for my grandfather who passed from cancer last March after almost a years battle with it and my mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer in April that same year and had extreme complications from the chemo which required me to care to her whenever I could as well. I have watched too many people in my family the past two years suffer with this disease, the mental effects of which will never leave my mind. But, I believe that family comes first and that no matter the circumstances you must care for your family members in every way possible.
To continue about who I am, I served 12 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman working with both the Navy members in my command and all the Devil Dogs in my command and was trained as a tactical combat medic in 2010. Prior to these positions I have been a volunteer firefighter for the past 21 years joining the Little Creek Vol. Fire Department in 1994. In 1996 I was educated at the Delaware State Fire School as a National Registry EMT and worked as an EMT for many different companies providing medical care and emergency medical response to a variety of cities and towns until 2005 when I was hired by the Wilmington Police Department.
Now that you know about us here is the most important part of our lives. They are the three babies we have, a 7 year old, a 5 year old and a 12 month old, who love their mommy more than anything. My request for donations is not for me but to help with our medical bills and further to help keep my childrens lives as normal as possible while mommy is going through chemo and other treatments. I made the goal 99,000 because that is what we owe on our home and if a miracle happens and we reach that amount it would be a huge weight lifted from our shoulders knowing our home was secure and that our children would always be kept in the house that we built our family in.
We pray everyday but it is going to be hard to keep a house runnning on just the 2000 dollars of disability money. I am selling anything I can to build some type of income, but it is not working quickly enough for Christmas time. So please donate what you can to help my children have a normal and great Christmas and help me be able to pay my wifes medical bills and not lose our home in the meantime. My appreciation for any amount of donation would be beyond words. My wife is my best friend, the love of my life and the most giving, loyal and honest woman I've ever met. She is the person who pulls over to rescue dogs on the side of the road and one who will give until she can no longer give. She is kind hearted, friendly to everyone and always takes time to be the best mother I have ever witnessed.
Please, I ask not only for a donation but for your prayers as well. We only have one month of her normal income left and then its going to be very rough for us financially to fight cancer, pay the mortage and feed our children without some type of help from you. So, again I ask please donate to a wonderful woman and to three of the most beautiful children who are only hoping for mommy to come home. Donations as stated above will be used for medical bills, food, continue to pay the utilities and to provide the children with as much of a normal lifestyle as possible while we fight this battle. Thank you to those who have already donated and given in other ways and I ask again for my children please give what you can and please pray for our family no matter your religion.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and God Bless you all!
