Sherry Fiester Cancer Fund

Thank you for visiting Sherry Fiester's Go Fund Me page which has been established by some of her friends in order to help clear Sherry's mind of financial concerns so that she can focus only on battling the cancer that has attacked her.  In November of 2016, Sherry was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer that has metastasized to her bile duct, liver, and lungs.

Since that diagnosis, Sherry has undergone at least seven invasive procedures, numerous scans and tests, a few hospitalizations for complications associated with the cancer (such as her pancreas shutting down), and soon— a full regimen of chemotherapy.  As you can imagine, this has been a tremendous drain on Sherry’s mind and body as well as it has been on Paul, her beloved husband, who has been taking care of Sherry nearly single-handedly.

The time has come when Sherry needs around-the-clock care in her home in Cedar Park, Texas.  The cost for this kind of care is steep— but there is just no other way to properly care for her, and Paul cannot do this alone anymore.  He's a deeply devoted and loving husband, but he's not a machine; he does need rest as well as time to go grocery shopping and to go pick up prescriptions.

Many of us know Sherry from the JFK Community as the person who wrote, "Enemy of the Truth: Myths, Forensics, and the Kennedy Assassination.” However, this book constitutes just a small part of her lengthy career of public service.

In the early 1980’s as a Sheriff's Deputy in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, Sherry climbed the ladder to become a real-life CSI forensics expert.  She served as a Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst and a court certified expert in three states and in over thirty Judicial Districts and the Louisiana State Federal Court. Her areas of expertise included Crime Scene Investigation, Crime Scene Reconstruction, and Blood Spatter Analysis. Sherry published in these fields and is recognized as an instructor at state and national levels. She's seen as a regular presenter at JFK Lancer events.

Additionally, Sherry has travelled miles to volunteer lecture before high school students, a labor of love that has prompted some of those students to choose careers in forensics sciences.  Sherry tenderly mentors some of these students, even now as she fights this deadly disease, giving freely of her time and her energies.

This is our opportunity to give back to one of the kindest, most intelligent, gentle, sensitive, and caring of all people that many of us will ever have the pleasure of meeting and knowing.  Sherry is a wife, a mother, a sister, and a Super Snuggler to her two Havanese dogs, “D.O.G.” and “Brulée.” Many of us know Sherry simply as "My friend, Sherry ," someone who will do anything for anyone in need of help.

In today's world, there are myriad causes and funds to support; so much need can be understandably overwhelming. So we ask that if you want to support Sherry in her fight against cancer that you give only what you can afford to give, whether it be prayers, or sending positive energies, or even $5 or $10.  $20 allows for one hour of in-home care, so every donation helps.  No donation is too small.  No prayer or lit candle is ever wasted.

Sherry wishes to thank all of her friends, family, former colleagues, and supporters from the bottom of her heart.  She wishes you all a blessed 2017— health, happiness, and peace.
