Dear Friends and colleagues,
On September 10, 2016 at 4pm a detected magnitude of 5.7 earthquake struck Kagera , part of Mwanza and Kigoma Regions in Tanzania close to the borders with Uganda and Rwanda, near Lake Victoria.
The earthquake has been described as the worst ever to hit the country in at least a decade. There is a significant damage to buildings in Bukoba, a city of more than 70,000 people where most casualties were reported. East Africa's Great Rift Valley runs along a geological fault line but major earthquakes there are very rare.
After shocks are still going on forcing people to sleep outside in fear of being hurt by homes made of soft bricks and mud collapsing down on them. This has impacted the population we serve in that region significantly. The houses has become graves to most of the victims.
SHINA Inc, are asking and desperately need your help to lend assistance to The Most Vulnerable Group of Women Youth and Children who are victims of this disaster.
