Shiners Vet Expenses
My name is Vance Snider, I spent 5 1/2 years in the United States Army and upon getting out, my first goal was to find a best friend to help me with my transition out of the military. In May of 2013, I found Shiner. He is my loyal German Shepherd and we have spent many adventures together.
Our relationship almost tragically ended the morning before Thanksgiving on November 23, 2016. It started as any other morning, I was on my way to school. Shiner usually greets me before I leave, but sometimes he's out catching rabbits or chasing birds. I came home from school around 11:00 A.M. to find he had not been home all morning.
My wife and I went out searching for him and found him lying in the field just east of our house with 2 broken legs from a bullet wound. Someone had shot our dog and left him for dead. Our local vet was not availble here in Dumas, so we rushed him to Hope Vet Clinic in Amarillo, TX hoping he would hang on that much longer with the amount of blood loss that had occured from the wounds.
Shiner survived the trip and the Vet Clinic saved his life. Shiner had surgery on the morning of Thanksgiving for 6 hours. Shiner lost about 4-6 inches in each hind leg and has multiple pins in each leg in hope for some use in his hind legs.

The money being raised will be used to cover all of the Vet Expenses and also treatments for Shiner during his time of recovery. Any left over exepense will be used to help anyone else in need of Vet funds due to similar circumstances.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. My wife and I will be forever in your debt. It has been a tough week and an emotional roller coaster, but as one of my good friends Aaron Shaw said," #shinerwillrise."
