SHU Sailing Team Goal For Drysuits

Sacred Heart University started a sailing program about 6 years ago. In that time the team has grown and has been very competitive in our conference, NEISA (New England Inter-collegiate Sailing Association), the most competitive and largest conference. This fundraiser is the start of many to ensure future growth and sustainability of our program. The money raised in this campaign will be allocated towards purchase of new drysuits for our current sailors, as the New England weather is quite harsh and cold. These suits help ensure our safety on the water and are also a huge requirement among our conference legislation and the university. Each suit retails at about $500. Future fundraising efforts will be placed on hiring and paying our coaching staff accordingly as well as purchase of new boats/equipment and travel expenses for our sailors.
