Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out because I am drowning and need help. For the past 25 days I have been working around the clock working as an activist and organizing protests in Fort Bragg, California. I work
full time and have another part time job and any free time I get is going towards this fight.
My black and brown brothers and sisters are tired. I am tired too. We are all dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, pain and mental exhaustion and fatigue. I am sensitive to their needs and encourage they practice self-care. However, I need to practice self-care too, otherwise I will burn out.
Last week was extremely intense as we prepped for the City Council’s meeting regarding the Fort Bragg, CA name change. Things are going to be moving forward with an ad hoc committee to discuss this matter further.
I have been the main lead for the MendoCoast BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and have been handling most matters.
I usually don’t like asking for help, but I don’t feel like I have many options because I know I’m already burnt out and I just need to be able to recover so I can be fresh for our ad hoc committee meetings.
So, here is how you can help support me and my efforts to see change on the Mendocino Coast –
Seeking donations – I would like to hire an administrative assistant to help me manage my inbox, schedule meetings, calls and video conferences, social media and other various tasks. This person will provide administrative support so I have the capacity to continue to focus my time on developing our ad hoc committee and continue movement building.
As you already know, this cause is very important to me.
I am so grateful for all the volunteers and allies sharing their time and gifts. We really appreciate all the support.
If you could donate to my fundraiser or share the link with your friends, it would mean so much. The more people hear about my cause, the quicker I can reach my fundraising goal.
Love,
Sierra
