HELP US BUY A BUILDING...
We began our rescue in 2015 and, since then, have rescued 98 seniors.  In the beginning, our goal was to renovate (and lease) a small space on the property of a business called Bowsers By The Bay.  With great support from our community (and others throughout the state of MI) we raised the money and renovations were completed in October of 2016. The space is warm, cozy and perfect for our seniors.   But, after the Detroit Free Press ran our story on the cover of their Easter Sunday paper, the support from throughout the country went through the roof.  We are now convinced that we can do greater things for this homeless senior dog population.

A wonderful couple has now given us a FANTASTIC, hard-to-pass-up offer on their incredible home - complete with a large pole barn and 15 acres - simply because they LOVE what we do and they want US to have the property.    If we acquire this property our dream of a full-fledged senior sanctuary will have come to fruition.  We will offer 'volunteering stay-cations' for those who want to spend extended stays and help with, play with and care for our senior dogs.  And - most importantly - we will be able to rescue many more dogs as the size will no longer be an issue.

We have appreciated all of the fantastic support, words of encouragement, and material and monetary gifts to help our cause. ‘Thank you’ will never be enough! We hope you’ll continue the journey with us as we tackle the task of emptying the shelters of all homeless senior dogs!
