Joshua's Legacy

Donation protected
Joshua Robert Luby, of Goffstown, NH, died of a drug overdose in the early hours of Saturday, September 19th, 2015.  He was 27 years old.  This fund seeks to provide for the medical and educational needs of his two children: Conor and Finleigh.

Finleigh Jaye is a squeaky, happy, little lady full of joy.  Born with microtia, Fin's right ear was not fully formed during development.  She currently has a team of specialists in Lebanon that handle her case.  While she'll eventually need reconstructive surgery on her ear, she's currently getting to know the sounds around her through the assistance of a B.A.H.A. (bone anchored hearing aid).  Funds from Joshua's Legacy will contribute to the future medical expenses she will need in addition to helping her go to college.

Conor Robert is a rambunctious, friendly, little man always eager to ham it up.  He is just starting pre-school and is already loving the new friends he's making in town.  Funds from Joshua's Legacy will also help contribute to Conor's college fund.

While we've posted the financial goal for Joshua's Legacy at $20,000, this is only being listed as such due to the restrictions of opening a GoFundMe account.  Joshua's surviving family does not want to ask their friends and family for charity.  With so many people reaching out in the short time after his death, offering their love and anything they can do; in lieu of flowers and in memory of his life we've created this Legacy to help his children in a way that Josh will no longer have a chance to do.  Every dollar raised will only go to these children for their medical expenses and future education.

Joshua loved his large and extended family, and was always especially attentive to those in need.  He was selfless in his love of family and friends, but was systematically robbed of his very essence by an addiction to opiates.  Although willing to help others at the drop of a hat, he was too proud to ask for help for himself.

Joshua struggled with the recovery process.  He loved his family deeply but was unable to overcome his demons.  Please remember Joshua as he was and as you knew him rather than what he became towards the end of the sadness that eventually took him from us.

Please don’t let your loved ones that struggle, struggle in isolation.  Do not allow any person, to ever be reduced to some convenient label relative to their struggle.  Joshua was so much more than just an addict.  He was loved, is loved, and will never be forgotten.  We are forever enriched by his short and vibrant life.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and generousity.  Conor and Finleigh are blessed to have so many wonderful people around them who's hearts their father touched.
