A Loving Day Community Celebration
Tax deductible
Sunday June 12, 2016 The Ebony Road Players are producing a fun, FREE community arts street fair on Barth street with workshops, music, and food for families, kids and adults. An original play will be performed at Wealthy Theatepr and a music concert will be performed following the play. During the event, students from the Mosaic Film Experience will provide event coverage. Last but not least we will be showing student films and HBO's The Loving Story inside the Koning Theater.
Loving Day is celebrated in cities throughout the country in observance of the Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court Case of 1967, which struck down the criminality of interracial marriage in the United States.
The Wealthy Street neighborhood is a hub of art and vibrant diversity, and is the perfect place for us to partner with the city to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and bring community together. Our Loving Day Celebration will honor multicultural and multiracial families and build a sense of belonging for all in the community, but particularly for people of color and diverse backgrounds.
With your financial help, the events for the evening offer artists in all disciplines a platform to share their crafts and express their stories about living biracial or multicultural lives in their families and communities.
Thank you for supporting this community celebration of diversity.
