Hartford School Social Justice Art
Donation protected
My students call me Mrs. Par. I am a middle school teacher at an inner city Hartford, CT magnet school. Our school is a social justice themed school that will be renaming our 40 classrooms after 40 different social justice pioneers who have worked hard to change the world for the better. As part of this initiative, some of our students have been selected to create one of a kind portraits of each of these social justice pioneers that will grace the hallways of our school. Each portrait will feature a different artistic medium, style, and art movement. We are in need of funds to provide the art supplies needed for this incredible project. Funds raised for this project will go towards purchasing canvases, paint, brushes, oil pastels, charcoal, a variety of papers, glue, frames, gel medium, ink and any other art supplies as needed. Anything additional will be put towards the opening of the gallery show we will hold once all of the portraits are complete (anticipated in May 2016). We need to get this project started immediately so funding is needed asap. This project is so important to me because I know it will build student confidence and purpose. This will be an amazing project and your contribution will give back to the community in the form of benefiting students, families, and even the public as we build appreciation, honor, and awareness of these great social justice pioneers. Thank you for your help and support!
