SOD Fire Rescue Expenses
Donation protected
On December 6, 2017, as fierce Santa Ana winds pushed the Thomas Fire from Ventura up the coast toward Carpinteria, destroying hundreds of structures and over 115,000 acres of southern California wildlands, a few courageous Shotokan Karate of America members braved flame, falling ash, and smoke to drive up Highway 101 to assist the occupants of the Shotokan Ohshima Dojo. Thanks to their quick action, which lasted until the early hours of December 7, people, treasures, and our dear Nana Ohshima were safely evacuated. The funds raised here will be used to reimburse them for their expenses; if there is any extra money they can have a really nice dinner.
