Mural Art for Solar Culture Gallery

My name is Kati Astraeir. I am a mystical and visionary multimedia artist, nature photographer, sound healer, and creative director at the Galactic Center venue in Tucson, Arizona. At the moment I have a great opportunity to create the next mural in front of Solar Culture Gallery. Since 1987, Solar Culture has been home to Tucson’s art and music community, hosting events and showing original works of hundreds of local artists. This is also where I landed coming to this country, and it became such a great place for my growth and development.
The name “Solar Culture” refers to the ancient Atlantean practice of bringing the light down into the pineal gland. In honor of this, the mural I’m envisioning will elaborate on this idea visually, expressing the essence of it. Also, for some time I have been asking myself: What would be the most perfect and beneficial vision to express at this time for our community?
After exploring different possibilities, one day the vision clarified. It is a powerful goddess image, expressing the state of awakening into divinity and her multi-dimensional nature. She is focused within, and her inner eye is fully open to see clearly into the world of spirit, beyond duality consciousness. She has journeyed down from her intellectual mind into her heart and she expresses creatively from this place. A jaguar spirit above her heart symbolizes moving beyond the fear and embracing shadow work. She is a pillar of light, a pure vessel, aligned in the center of her being, connected with the source, bridging Heaven and Earth. She is showing the way.
The piece will be 10 x 10 feet and in full color.
This is my design for the mural that will be my starting point:
And this is another rough sketch/exploration around the same idea:
I would like to create a gateway to these states of consciousness, anchoring these energies. My recent mural commissioned by Center for the Biological Diversity, a representation of our local jaguar El Jefe, was featured in the Smithsonian and High Sierra magazines. It became a symbol of opposition against a border wall and mining companies wanting to destroy the land where jaguar lives. You can read more in-depth story about this project here: Jaguar Spirit Mural Art
Once again I am feeling called to bring forth the spirit of jaguar ally as one of the elements, working with its strong medicine, to continue raising this awareness. I am ready to create something on a whole another level!
If you feel inspired to be a part of this project, please make a contribution. Your gift will help cover the costs of creating this visionary mural and allow me to fully focus on this work. We are also planning to reconstruct the metal structure that will hold the mural, so it will be able to withstand all the elements of Arizona's intense weather. Thank you for your support in bringing this vision alive!
