Sophie and her family be able to afford an assistance dog

Hello, my name is Sophie and I’m a 14-year-old passionate dancer and student who lives with my mum and grandparents. For the past 6 months, I’ve been suffering from a debilitating condition called dysautonomia. Dysautonomia has many varied symptoms, the most difficult to manage being Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). POTS is a condition that has drastically changed my life, causing me to pass out 3-6 times a day, leading to head injuries. I used to live for dance and school, I had my life planned out to be a veterinarian, as I have always been education driven, but now I find myself confined to a hospital bed more often than not.
POTS has taken so much from me—my energy, my independence, and my ability to pursue my dreams. On top of that, I also struggle with anxiety and PTSD, making it even harder to cope with daily life. My greatest hope is to regain some normalcy and happiness, but I need help.
I’m raising funds to get a service dog that can support me in managing my symptoms and improving my mental health. A service dog can provide companionship, alert my family to oncoming episodes, and help me regain the confidence and independence I’ve lost.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help my family afford the training and care for a service dog. Your support means the world to me and will bring me one step closer to living my life fully again.
Thank you for considering helping me reach my dreams.
With gratitude,
Sophie :-)
