Jeff Sorvik's family suffered a tragic loss on Saturday, February 4th 2017 with the passing of a beloved son, husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. His earthy life was taken at the age of 52 when he tragically died in a fire that also resulted in the total loss of the family home.
Jeff faithfully loved God, his family, the Church, our city, this nation, and the world. The full measure of his legacy and influence will never be sufficiently known. Through loving like Jesus he gave every bit of himself to each of us. They simply don't come any better than Jeff Sorvik.
He was our neighbor, dear friend and pastor. He was always there. In our greatest moments of joy, forever encouraging us, forever loving us.
So too he was there in our sadness. Standing with us in sickness, counseling us through our shortcomings, praying with us through our sorrows and grieving with us through our losses.
Now we grieve for him. Yet our grief over the loss of our friend, neighbor, and pastor pales in comparison to the loss of a son, father and husband of the Sorvik family.
Over the past days, we have been blown away with your offers to help and give. Thank you! Please know, the Sorvik family is being well loved and taken care of by their immediate and extended family.
While so many of us are aching to be there for them, we must respect their privacy. Please do not contact them directly. If you have a specific offer of help, please contact Anchor Point Church in Duluth, MN.
There will be many days and months after this to serve and love the Sorvik family directly. To hug it out, to pray, to listen. But for now, consider giving in this way: Pray often and give generously.
Thank you for your love and support of the Sorvik family.
