SPLASH for the Marjorie Hughes Fund
The swim teams from Arlington Forest Club, Donaldson Run, Knights of Columbus, Overlee, and Washington Golf and Country Club (WGCC) are thrilled to come together and S.P.L.A.S.H. (Swimming Pool Laps for Arlington School Health). The swimmers from these swim teams will join forces on Sunday, June 28th, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at WGCC for a fun and exciting swim-a-thon. Swimmers will raise money by swimming laps (and having fun) for a worthwhile Arlington charity - the Marjorie Hughes Fund for Children.
The Marjorie Hughes Fund for Children (MHF) is an Arlington non-profit/tax exempt organization that was founded to honor the work of Dr. Marjorie Hughes, a retired Arlington Public Schools (APS) school health physician. MHF is an all-volunteer organization that provides a vital link between community health resources and APS children living in low-income families. MHF works with APS and the Arlington Pediatric Center to identify school-aged children that have no health insurance or inadequate health insurance. Each year, MHF assists more than 100 Arlington children to obtain the medical care, dental care, vision care, hearing exams/aids, and medications that they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.
All of the donations raised for this event will go directly to the Marjorie Hughes Fund. Thanks for your support!
