Sprint World Championships
Donation protected
Who is this guy and why does he need money? I'm Cornelius Kersten (23), I represent Great-Britain in longtrack speedskating. Current British record holder on the 500, 1000, 1500, 3000m and six time British champion (for results, click here).
This season I pursued my dream of becoming a fulltime speedskater by moving to Calgary. By doing this I could train at a World skating class facility. This has enabled me to take part in my first ISU World Cups and qualify for the 2018 Sprint World Championships in Changchun, China. Only 28 skaters from all over the world can compete in these championships. As the first British athlete since 2011 I'm very proud to be one of them!
Unlike the more well known speedskating nations such as the Netherlands and Canada, speedskating is not a common sport in Great Britain (unfortunately there not
a 400m rink!). Recently the NISA(British federation) has increased its support by facilitating British athletes.
However we're not there yet. And that's where your part starts! To have the best possible preparation for the World Sprint in Changchun I need resources to fund my travel and accomodation costs, equipment and physio treatment. I’m trying to raise an amount of £1350/ €1500/ 2300CAD to cover all of the these costs.
I'm very proud to represent Great-Britain during these big international competitions. That's why I hope you're willing to help me achieve my funding goal. So I can represent Great-Britain as well as possible in Changchun. Help me put Great-Britain back on the longtrack map!
If this wasn't convincing enough or if you have any other questions, you can always send me a message.
Thanks in advance!
PS. If you do not have a creditcard, please contact me for other donation options.
