St. Thomas' Community Walking Path
Donation protected
A few years ago St. Thomas' Episcopal Church had the dream of creating a walking path around the perimeter of its beautiful bayou property near the University of Louisiana at Monroe. This path is 1/3 of mile long and is now regularly used by neighbors, students and members of our church.
Now we want to improve our pathway to make it easier and more fun to travel - especially for those with special needs - like those in wheelchairs and with strollers.
Our goal is to raise $16,500 by the summer of 2017 for asphalt paving (four feet in width) for the complete path around the property which winds past our front driveways along Bon Aire Drive, past our back patio, the benches with bayou views, our wooden pier on Bayou DeSiard and lovely outdoor pavilion with picnic tables and stone fireplace!
Our prayer is that this makes our walkway easier for all to use and allows all our neighbors to enjoy the beauty of our church and God's creation.
We are so thankful for those who use this path regularly now and look forward to the day when we can thank you for making the path available to even more folks in our community.
