STAND WITH CUNY STUDENTS

We are a concerned group of City University (CUNY)  students and professors who are raising funds for one our student's family members who was detained by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) as part of the nation- wide anti-immigrant policies breaking up families. Our student, Karina, a mother of three children, has already hired a respected lawyer, and sought help from the Sanctuary Coalition to assist with her husband's case. However, the immigration system is costly, and is designed to make profit at every turn and financially deplete those caught in its clutches. She needs our support. Karina’s husband has no criminal record and is a hard working family man whose only wish right now is to be reunited with his wife and children. He is at risk of being sent back to Honduras, a violent country where he fears he would be persecuted. Let's help our student to keep her family together. We need $10,000 to assist her with bond fees. In addition, we want this to be an on -going effort to defend our CUNY family, and send a message that when it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us. Your donation, whether it is $5 or $500 will make a big difference in the life of one family, while contributing to a larger movement.
