Lupe Lopez Memorial Fund

This spring, our beloved friend and teacher Lupe Lopez was diagnosed with triple-negative, stage 3 breast cancer. In June, Lupe began a lengthy course of chemotherapy that will take her into the winter. Her doctors are hopeful that, after chemotherapy, they will be able to surgically remove the tumor. After surgery, she will start radiation treatment.

Lupe has been a cherished member of the Post Oak School community for more than thirty years, educating and caring for generations of Post Oak students. Anyone who has crossed paths with Lupe knows that she is a passionate and dedicated friend and teacher; in the classroom, she models for our children the culture of peace, respect, and growth that we all strive to achieve.

Since her diagnosis, Lupe’s family, friends, and colleagues have rallied around her to provide emotional and financial support; however, she and her family still face a long road to recovery. Fortunately, many more people are looking for ways to help, so we’ve started this campaign to raise money for the family to offset the significant costs they will face in this upcoming battle.

Lupe is facing her diagnosis with grace, courage, and optimism, but she and her husband Michael, along with her sons and her siblings, will need all of our positive thoughts, prayers, and support throughout these next few months. When our community comes together, we can have a powerful impact. Let’s make a difference for Lupe and her family, so she can focus on her health and not on her medical bills.
