Empower Trae's Resilience Amidst Challenges

On the morning of May 15th, Trae's life took a devastating turn. Trae was involved in a severe car accident that completely totaled their vehicle. This tragedy is just the latest in a series of overwhelming challenges that have left Trae fighting to keep their head above water.
A Year of Hardship and Hope
2023 was already a brutal year for Trae. They faced the nightmare of domestic violence and the betrayal of identity theft by their own sister, which at one point led to Trae being homeless. On top of that, Trae endured intense transphobia that stripped them of access to vital gender-affirming care.
Despite these hurdles, Trae has been a beacon of resilience and strength, striving to provide their two adopted children a loving and stable environment. They have also been working tirelessly towards becoming a school psychologist, aiming to give back to their community and support others through their struggles.
The Car Accident
The recent car accident not only destroyed Trae’s vehicle but also deepened their financial and emotional crisis. The accident was traumatic enough, but it was made worse by the other driver’s aggressive and transphobic response. Despite the cruelty they faced, Trae found some support in that dark moment.
Why Trae Needs Your Help
Without a car, Trae cannot work, which is a critical lifeline for their family. The summer is fast approaching, and the urgency to secure employment to support their children is pressing. Due to recent events Trae does not have the funds needed for their rent and household bills. Having a vehicle is also imperative to transport Trae's children to appointments and emergencies. Trae needs our support to overcome this critical period and get back on their feet.
Our Goal:
We are aiming to raise $22,000 by June 1st, 2024. This amount will cover:
- A reliable and suitable family vehicle to replace the one that was totaled including the initial insurance and registration fees
- Rent ($1600) for next month, household bills ($400), and household needs to ensure Trae and their children have a safe place to live
- The high fees associated with this GoFundMe campaign
