Start an animal santuary

Hi, my name is Jessica, a Montanan residing in India with my husband, Shrey. We have recently acquired 10 acres of land and wish to open an animal sanctuary in central India. As some of you know, we are extremely dedicated to helping animals in need, and though it is a difficult endeavor, we thoroughly enjoy it. We spend all our effort and time to ensure wounded or hungry animals are cared for, no matter what. However, our energy is unfortunately not the only expenditure for such an undertaking. Rewarding as it may be, feeding and caring for helpless animals isn’t cheap.
In India, there’s a seemingly endless array of animals desperately needing assistance. Most of the animals we plan on helping live on the streets, currently subsisting on scraps from garbage or the occasional handout. Street dogs who are wounded, or suffering from mange will never receive medical care, spending their short lives in unimaginable pain. We want to change this reality for as many animals as possible, but in order to do so we need outside funding.The land is currently bare, and needs quite a bit of work done in order to become a true sanctuary. We have plans to drill a well, build fencing, dig a small pond on the property, build a barn, create fenced areas for different types of animals (including cows, goats, chickens, and dogs), and an area for street dogs who may need to be quarantined due to mange. Much of this we will be paying for out of pocket, but medical care, food, and other miscellaneous supplies will be needed in order to provide a better life for animals. This is our life’s work, and we truly appreciate any amount that will help us fulfil our purpose.
