St. Basil CYO Odyssey of the Mind

Congratulations to our St. Basil the Great CYO Odyssey of the Mind team! They placed 2nd in the State Competition in Pittsburgh! We wish them all the best as they advance to the World Championship in Iowa! Teams from around the World will compete in this problem solving competition.  St.Basil the Great CYO is the only Catholic Elementary Team in the State to advance to the World Championship.   They are very excited that their hard work, dedication, and creativity have paid off.   The team competed in the Technical Problem "Something Fishy".  Teams are challenged to solve technical problems and create innovative contraptions while incorporating artistic elements into their solutions.  

Please consider helping the team raise the needed funds to travel to Iowa and participate in this incredible opportunity that they have worked so hard for.

OOTM is an international creative problem-solving program for students in kindergarten through college. Odyssey of the Mind provides students the opportunity to learn to express themselves creatively, while developing life-long problem-solving skills. Students learn the value of brainstorming and teamwork, as they grow their self-confidence and appreciation for the ideas and strengths of others, all in an encouraging team-focused atmosphere.
