Stephen's 2nd Fight

As most of you know who have been following the journey of our son Stephen Curatolo over the last 6 years or so, at the young age of 22, while most are planning to further their education, planning career advancement and thinking down the road to marriage and families and hopes of making their other dreams become realities, Stephen never dreamed he would be fighting for his life over the next few years as tests confirmed that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4, the most advanced stage of the disease. Our family was extremely saddened and devastated as we could not believe this was happening to Stephen. Over the next 2 years, and by age 24, Stephen never gave up and fought hard and with superb medical care and the help of emotional support and prayers from family and friends, including many who don’t even know Stephen personally, Stephen and our family received the greatest news that the cancer was gone and he was now cancer free. Those 2 years were emotionally draining for us, and financially draining as well, but every penny we spent was well worth it to see the positive results regarding Stephen. Just last week, 4 years later, a routine physical exam once again confirmed news we did not think we would ever hear again. The cancer that Stephen fought so hard to beat once before has returned as Stephen was once again, diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4. This time, instead of chemo, ­­they are using infusions of new drugs to try and trick the immune system We are optimistic this will work.
We know Stephen has beaten cancer before and will be able to beat it again now. As his family, we face another emotional time and this will be a financial strain on him and us as well. We are hoping that our family and friends can do what they can and help us with whatever they can so that together, we can show Stephen we are behind him and will help provide whatever is needed to rid him of cancer forever. Believe me, this is not something we, his family, ever thought we would be posting or asking for. We all have differences of opinions on religion, politics and other issues in our daily lives, but I know we are all in agreement with the fact that cancer is our greatest enemy and needs to just vanish forever!!! However you can help will be greatly appreciated.
