Sterling’s parking ticket/charity

Donation protected
This is r/MkeBucks #StandWithSterling campaign to “pay” Sterling Brown’s parking ticket by raising money to donate to a charity of Sterling’s choice!

After Bucks player Sterling Brown endured intimidation and unlawful use of force at the hands of the Milwaukee police officers, he was still issued a parking citation. That’s insane and we’d like to show our support by “paying the ticket” for Sterling by raising money for a charity of his choice! From what we can tell, the parking ticket Sterling received would be for $200, so that is our goal.

After one week we’ll reach out to Sterling to ask what charity he’d like the money donated to. If we can’t get in touch with Sterling then we will donate the money to the ACLU.

As Sterling said in his statement, this is bigger than him. This is about the countless injustices people face every day and about being part of a community that stands against injustice.

Update:

WOW!—we have now blown way past our first goal of $200 and have raised more than $600 to “pay” the ticket for charity more than three times! Thanks to everyone who donated—now let’s see if we can “pay” the ticket a fourth time or more for charity! This campaign was scheduled to run until the evening of May 31, but since we got in touch with Sterling and he said he didn’t have a charity in mind yet but would let us know when he does (see campaign updates), the campaign will likely be extended for a bit after its originally-scheduled end date.
