St Mary's Church, Builth Wells

Donation protected
The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Builth Wells has a lively congregation, but limited resources.

We would like to make some big changes in our church:
Refurbish the organ
Raise the organ loft
Get the organ working fully again
Set up a new choir vestry/practice area
Build a new kitchen/servery for the church
Build new toilet and disabled toilet facilities

All these changes will enable our church building (which originated in the 1300's) and our congregation to serve the people of Builth in a much more comfortable and well equipped way.

Initial funding began in the spring of 2016 when Abigail Hook (vicar's wife and choir director) ran a 10km race in Birmingham which raised £1605.50. Following more general fundraising, the congregation will start applying for grants and funds when we plan the major works.

More information on the church and Christian community in our area can be found in Signposts Magazine.

This project means a great deal to the individual members of our congregation, the choir and people who sing in our church, to those who enter the building for baptisms, weddings, funerals, memorial services, school educational visits, concerts and fundraising events. Our church community is alive and inclusive and we are very proud to be part of it.

It would mean so much to us to be able to set off this new phase in the life of our church building successfully. We aim to serve the community around us and enrich the lives of those who enter the doors of St Mary's Builth.
