Stolen camera, loss career
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
Good evening/morning I hope everyone is having an amazing day so far. My name Matthew or Matt, I am 21 years old, full time college student working two jobs as a student ambassador on campus and a sports/events photographer. I am attending Diablo Valley College, soon to be transferring to a CSU to achieve a BFA or BA in photography, then earn my MA or MFA in photography.
Recently my camera, lens, and art history textbook was stolen once I discovered my car was broken into. Unfortunately, the police could not offer much service as they told me to file a report. My dad got me that camera a long time ago knowing it was my career, passion, and form of expression through telling stories and experiences. It was needed for my education as a photography major and as a sports/events photographer for my job. If possible I'd have to get a new camera before mid January or I'd have to quit both my jobs because my student ambassador job requires me to be enrolled in a certain amount of units. The money would go straight to photography purposes for a new camera, portrait lens, and a new textbook to conttinue my pursuit of my career. Sadly the only way I could afford to replace the materials and equipment is leaving school and finding a new job.
Stolen Equipment:
-Nikon D5100 ($500)
-Nikon 50mm lens ($90)
-Camera bag ($40)
-80-300mm telephoto lens ($170)
-School supplies: backpack, art history textbook, film ($100)
Anything would be a great help and greatly apprieciated; it will bring me a step closer to getting back on track for my future. Falling behind in my education and career will create a larger gap of being able to catcg back up. Any kind of aid will go a long way and will appreicated, so I can conitune my career, education, and love for photography.
Thank you everyone for your time in reading this message amd for your support.
Sincerely,
Matthew M.
