Stormie Hunter Nelson is a student at Vian High School, in Vian Oklahoma and has an amazing talent to sing. Stormie has been receiving high honors during choir competitions since the 4th grade when she was selected to participate in the Eastern District Honor Choir (EDHC). She was selected for this honor again during her 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, & 11th grade years.
In addition to the district honors, Stormie auditioned three different years and was selected each year to participate in “The Circle the State with Song” festival http://www.okmea.org/Circle_the_state_with_song.html. Stormie has received 4 outstanding musician awards, was ranked 27th in the state of Oklahoma for All-State and last year; while in the 10th grade, has received one scholarship offer.
Stormie has now been given the once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the Honor Choir USA, during the Aloha Spectacular in Honolulu, Hawaii from June 16th – 22nd, 2015. This is a great opportunity for Stormie in which she will be able to collaborate with other outstanding choral students sing with some of the Nations’ finest vocalist, and work with outstanding college directors. Stormie will also be given the opportunity to interact with local Hawaiian students and their families, learning the culture of the Hawaiian people.
In order to participate in this once in a lifetime event, Stormie needs our help! I am setting up this site, as a friend of Stormies’ loving grandparents; Larry & Michelle Smith (with their permission, of course) to request sponsorship by way of monetary gifts to raise the money Stormie needs to defray the costs of this trip. A door of opportunity has been opened for this beautify talented young woman. Please help us raise the money to keep this opportunity from slipping away and aid us in reaching our goal.
