Studying in Rome

Hi everyone!

My name is Stephanie Vazquez and I am currently a fourth year transfer student at Mount Saint Mary's University. I am a first generation college student with plans to graduate next Spring. I'm double majoring in Sociology and Film & Media. On campus I'm involved in several clubs and organizations, taking on leadership positions while also working at my school. I'm someone who is dedicated, passionate, and hard-working where I even made Dean's List this past semester.

I'm choosing to study abroad in Rome next semester and unfortunately cannot afford it in its entirety.  Asking for help is something I have always struggled with but I understand I cannot do this alone. Having the chance to study in another country will  give me time to grow and learn in ways that I could never imagine. This opportunity will help me with my career after I graduate and help me learn more than I ever could if I was to not go. One of the biggest reasons I'm choosing to study abroad is that I will be able to partake in a service learning course that will allow me to volunteer during my time in Rome. As someone who volunteers often I will be able to truly immerse myself in the culture and learn more about the people around the world in the best way possible. 

My fundraising goal will go towards paying for my flight and other program fees I must finish paying off before I leave. I've applied to scholarships but will not hear back for another while. I greatly appreciate everything donated, any little  bit helps me follow my path. I thank you in advance for helping me reach my goals!
