On Sunday afternoon Sue and I walked her yard and prepared for the effects of Hurricane Harvey. We assumed her home was fine. At 2 am I called and woke Sue and her husband Bruce concerned about news of rising waters. Their home was flooding! By 2 am and after many frantic calls for help Sue and her husband Bruce were rescued by an awesome rescue group from Tennessee! Via boat! I've begun local efforts to help friends and family who've lost everything. Sue and Bruce just celebrated 57 years of marriage as the hurricane began. Now they have no home, sue lost all her art and her entire studio. They have the clothes they were rescued in! I've begun gathering clothes but they will need everything in the coming days, weeks, months. We are helping them tonight and begin gutting their flooded home tomorrow. The flood was to the roof!
