Supplies for Las Piedras
Donation protected
This is the town of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. The people are quickly running out of food and water.
There are many places that are in dire need of resources after the current numerous natural disasters.
Las Piedras has come to my immediate attention through a coworker and friend. Aliette Negron grew up in this town and has friends and family currently residing there.
Aliette's concern is that aid may not reach smaller towns out of the mertopolitan area in time. She is taking it upon herself to gather supplies and fly down to Puerto Rico and help her community. She has spoken to family members and neighbors who only have a few days left of food and water.
She will be leaving this Saturday and can take a maximum of 5 bags. After bringing supplies herself and what others have donated there are room for two more bags.
The funds rasied will be used for food, clean water tablets, batteries, diapers, etc. What ever funds left from this round of supplies will be used for MORE supplies. The reconstruction will take months and people will need contiued help.
Aliette will be bringing supplies to the shelter in Las Piedras and then visiting other towns in need. The only goal of this go fund me is to help as many people directly as we can. We want to send as many supplies to as many communities that need it. Once she arrives we will have an even better idea of exactly how many supplies are needed.
I know many people want to contribute in sending aid to the people of Puerto Rico, but many are not sure how or what the best way to do so is. It is hard to donate money and not see tangible results. Everyone wonders how exactly their donated resources are being allocated. For me, and perhaps many of you, this is the opportunity to know what I am donating and where it is going.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Any questions are welcome. Aliette will be doing her best to update us with pictures and information when she arrives.
Below are recently received photographs of the current destruction in Las Pierdas.
Best wishes to everyone.
Thank you.

This is the neighboring town, Humacao. It reads S.O.S we need water and food.
