Amazing Grace Children’s Foundation is a certified 501c3, not-for-profit organization .
1.1 THE PROBLEM
The health care system in Ghana: Main issues affecting the health care of children in Ghana and thus the increase in infant mortality rate is the lack of specialized pediatric care, infrastructure of health care facilities specific to children causing a huge gap in disparities of health care as it relates to children and women.
According to UNICEF without dedicated intervention, it is estimated that 68 million children will die from preventable causes by 2030. UNICEF estimates that 119 million children will be chronically malnourished. WHO preterm death under five needs to be addressed. Currently in Ghana Prematurity is at 31%, followed by birth asphyxia & birth trauma at 30%. 19% of neonatal deaths are caused by sepsis, diarrhea is at 12%, 15% are attributed to other infectious conditions, and Malaria is at 32% of neonatal death
1.2 THE SOLUTION.
The vision of Amazing Grace Children’s Foundation is to construct a children’s hospital which will provide excellent medical and surgical care to children with specialized needs on a long term basis. In collaboration with community and external resources we will decrease the malaria and infant mortality rate in western Africa. Amazing Grace Children’s Hospital will value the life of all children by giving them the best chance for survival and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
1.3. OUR FOCUS
Provide prenatal health and continuing care through age five
Provide education and support for malaria prevention and preventable diseases
Provide maternal health education and support
Our first medical mission
On January 4th–11th Amazing Grace Children’s Foundation organized a free medical mission and provided free medical screening to over 400 children in the Ashiaman Community.
The goal was to bring awareness and bridge the child health care disparities in the underprivileged and under served Ashiaman community
We are going back to Ghana for our second Medical Mission on January 15th, 2017!
We are asking for your support in raising 5,000 dollars which will help cover the cost of acquirng additional durable medical equipment, supplies, additional craft supplies, and games for the kids of the community, as well as, additional travel expenses. The money we raise will allow our to provide free medical care to the children
Your support and endorsment in our endeavors to help these underserved communities is reinforcement to the people of the communities we serve that they are not alone, and to the amazing grace team that they are not alone in wanting to give towards a cause bigger than themselves. As a sign of gratitude your support will be recognized publicly at the Amazing Grace Children's Hospital when constructed.
