Support Andy McLean

We live in Canada, a nation built of the strengths of collaboration and diversity. When the going gets tough, we rally together as a team to use our collective creativity and determination to find ways to make a positive difference for those who truly need a helping hand.These days, we all seem to have friends and family who have had an encounter with cancer. Whether or not it affects the young or old, it always spurs the question in each of us, “What can I do to help?” Well, right now is one of those times.Our good friend and teammate Andy McLean is in need of our assistance. For some time now, he has been battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has not responded to treatment as well as everyone had hoped. As options for dealing with the disease become more limited, they also become more expensive, so this is where we can step in and help.The next stage will require three rounds of treatment in Germany. In order to facilitate this, our goal is to raise $35,000 to cover travel and medical costs. I know this seems like a big number, but I can tell you that our hockey alumni alone is over 150 guys. Andy has also helped to shape future  generations with his unwavering dedication to the students he has served at Ellesmere-Statton PS and the countless number of players he has assisted in the world of hockey. So, it’s time to throw our sticks into the middle of the ice and divvy up the responsibilities among us, because right now is no time to sit on the bench. It’s time to be all in. As one team, we only have one goal in mind.Please contribute what you can and encourage others to do so as well. Our teammate needs our help and we all have a chance to make a difference.
