‘BUMP IT', a new original Hip-Hop/R&B musical, begins its workshop in 2018 in Orlando, FL in association with one of Orlando’s newest production companies (Magna Verum Productions Orlando).
Magna Verum Productions has a strong value for telling meaningful stories which began with its previous hit comedy stage play ‘Trading Soles’ that premiered at the 2017 Annual Orlando International Fringe Festival receiving Patrons Pick for the Bring Your Own Venue (BYOV at Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park) category. On November 4, 2016, The Magna Verum Production Company launched its Go Fund Me campaign with a goal of $1,500.00 and raised $1,125.00 to help produce the project which helped fund 99% of the entire production!
Bringing on ‘Bump It’ as one of Magna Verum’s next big projects was definitely a sure win being that the theme of the show is inspired by various stories that can most definitely strike encouraging and inspiring vibes within theatergoers.

Inspired by True Stories . . .
"It has been said that writing about what you know and your experiences is one of the greatest routes to go for storytelling. Centered on the world of competitive street dance, ‘Bump It' is influenced by various true stories from the writer and others. One of the biggest stories that really lit a flame on the idea of ‘Bump It’ was around the first year I moved a bit closer to the city part of Orlando into my first apartment living near one of Central Florida’s most well known parks (Cranes Roost Park) where every Friday evening a group of local Hip-Hop dancers would gather together to practice their craft and simply enjoy each others company advancing their dance craft from break, krump, tutting, etc. A friend and I would hang around that park most Friday evenings and would pass by these extremely talented dancers that would always draw a mini crowd enjoying their performance. I eventually got to know some of these dancers and kept in contact with them as I too have been hip-hop dancing for quite some time and wanted to eventually get involved with some of these performers. Unfortunately, the Friday night dance hype was no more due to the group of dancers being banned from dancing in the park. This is what really struck inspiration for writing ‘Bump It’. The fact of that a group of very talented and passionate dancers who are professionals at what they do could no longer freely express their skills in a public area causing no issues, rather showing off something positive for others to see and being banned from doing just that was absolutely mindblowing."

“Teamwork makes the DREAM work”! Putting together a big musical production takes the help of every individual to make it a reality. Magna Verum Productions and its staff have served as a great platform for getting ‘Bump It’ on its feet along with the amazing creatives that have joined the team. Our first orientation with the team recently took place on June 5, 2017, where everyone got to meet and gather together for the first time (some having worked with each other on previous projects).
We are very excited to release a 25-minute short documentary featuring the great journey of ‘Bump It’ from the meetings, auditions, rehearsals, studio cast recording for the concept album and more!
**Documentary is expected to be released Fall 2018** [Official Release Date TBA]
What inspired the idea of producing a concept album?
During the late year of 2014, one of the most popular theater web pages (Broadwayworld.com) featured an article shedding some light on the pre-workshop.

During that time, a selective few of rough demos were also released to the public which received nothing but positive feedback, thus inspiring the idea years later for producing a concept album for the year of 2018. In the near future, we are hoping to have a full regional premiere production to begin going in the works after the conclusion of the workshop series.
