Fire Chief Tom Schultz & Family

It would be difficult to serve within the Fire Service in Orange County and not know or at least hear of Fire Chief Tom Schultz.  Beginning in 1985, he earned his way through the ranks of the Fullerton Fire Department, ultimately reaching the rank of Deputy Chief of Operations.  During that time, he was also instrumental in establishing the consolidated command staff to manage both the Fullerton and Brea Fire Departments.  In 2015 he was selected to lead the men and women of the Garden Grove Fire Department as their Fire Chief.  In addition, thousands of aspiring firefighters were shaped by Chief Schultz as they moved through the Santa Ana College Fire Technology and Fire Academy programs.
 
In early January, Chief Schultz sought medical care at St. Jude Medical Center after experiencing abdominal discomfort at home.  After evaluation, he and his family received the news that no person ever should.  He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic and Liver Cancer.  Chief has taken on this challenge with his trademark positive outlook.  He has already begun Chemotherapy treatments at SJMC to both reduce the size of the cancer and also minimize the associated negative side effects.
 
This Go Fund Me has been established to assist the Chief's wife,  Kim Schultz and the family with any financial needs that will arise during this incredibly challenging time.  100 percent of all funds donated will go directly to Kim Schultz.
