Support a Hardworking Family - Car Repair

30 year old Male, working hard in Texas for a one income family. And life hit me hard.

Things have gotten harder for me and my family over the past few years, and we've been hoping and praying for any financial relief. We're stuck in the same apartment from 7 years ago, rent is going up, and at my full-time job, I haven't seen a bonus in a year due to the economy. But I can't afford to lose the insurance or risk trying to get another job that might pay lower (and I have no savings). I took to doing Uber for some side hustle money, and it was keeping me afloat by letting me work an extra 40-50 hours a week (12-16 hours on weekends).

However, it's a used car and Texas has high heat and poor roads. I got caught in a storm, my car died, and I paid for a tow home, and a tow to a mechanic who noted I need to replace my transmission to the tune of $3300 + Labor. I am hoping, asking, and pleading for any help to keep us afloat and get this fixed so I can go back to working as hard as I can, or at the very least have my car working again to go to my Monday-Friday job. Right now I can't reverse the car at all, and it doesn't let me accelerate above 5 MPH so I can't even get on the highway or even take backroads to work. Right now I'm taking the bus, and carpooling.
