Support for Ron and Sara

Our dear friend, Sara, and her family could use our financial help right now. As many of you know Ron is actively dying from prostate cancer. Three (3) weeks ago he was moved from home care to the Agrace Hospice inpatient unit so they could control his pain and give him the round the clock care he needs. What you may not know is that Ron’s insurance only paid for a maximum of nine (9) days of his inpatient care; after that the family is responsible for the expensive daily fee if they decide home care is not an option, which is the case with Ron. Sara is now paying “out of pocket” at a cost of $330 a day. Beginning Tuesday, March 5, Sara will need to pay for another 15 days.  In addition, it was Ron and Sara’s intention back in November to help out with travel expenses and some cost of living needs for Ron’s son Paul and his husband Josh, who live in Germany. Paul has been here since the end of November and had a paid leave for close to 6 weeks; after that time ended he has not been getting paid.


You, as part of Sara's network of friends are incredibly caring and faithful - which is not surprising since Sara is such a loyal friend to us all. Sara appreciates all your prayers, kind words, cards, gifts, meals, and deeds. She is especially grateful for all who generously contributed over the past year to Ron's alternative therapies expenses on the Caring Bridge website. (That was a short term fund so is no longer active.)
