Support for Taliaferro House Fire

This is a very sad time for my family. Grateful for the safety of my family escaping a house fire. 

Hi my name is Giovanni Scalzo and I’m fundraising on behalf of my family members. On December 30, 2018 my mother Belinda Delvalle lost her home of 23 years to a fire. 
A home inwhich myself and my two brothers were raised in.  

 At 5:00am the fire alarm woke my mother and she found the front part of the house on fire. She immediately grabbed my neice, brother, and the dog from the house. As the fire department arrived  it was already to late. The flames had traveled so quickly through the house and has destroyed everything inside to include clothes, medicines, valuables,  funiture, family treasures, etc. 

To see the after math brought even more pain and tears. Myself and many others look up to my mother as a beautiful, caring, loving person. This is truly heart breaking to see my mother go into a new year with the loss of her home and everything inside. 

Through unexpected emergencies, never had I thought a tragic like this would happen to my family. I’m extending my hand out on behalf of my family. In times like this I must become humble and in need of assistance. 

A huge THANK YOU to the American Red Cross volunteers, Newport News Fire Department, Newport News Police Department,  and the neighbors who came to aid.
