Hello my name is Sebastian from Tampa Florida and I am trying to help raise money for a toddler named Ilya who lives Ukraine. If you can, please offer your prayer and/or financial support to help this child. While I have not met their son personally, I know his parents are wonderful believers with hearts to reach the lost in Ukraine. Their son Ilya (Elijah) has a serious condition and like any set of loving parents, his mom and dad want to see their child thrive in health and strength. All donations given here will be given to Ilya's parents so that they can pay for the treatments that Ilya needs.
Below is a message from the mother of the child who needs treatment:
"Hello! My name is Alona. My family lives in Ukraine, near the city of Rivne. On October 23, 2014 our second son was born Ilya (Elijah). After he was born, he was very restless, he would cry for hours, ate badly and his body was very tense. We went to the doctors - but they said it’s no problem he’s just a restless child. When he was walking at 1 year 3 months- I noticed that he hardly puts down his left foot and just pulls it along and also almost doesn’t do anything with his left hand except to press it continuously to his chest, especially when he is walking. He often just fell down - without any reason. We went to the main hospital in our region – and they immediately sent us to have an MRI done and some other tests as well. Our Ilya was diagnosed with left-sided hemiparesis - (a mild form of cerebral palsy) The left side of his brain, due to a large hemorrhage in the ventricle of the brain, lags behind the right side of the brain in development. His left leg - shorter by almost 3cm creates problems when walking, and his shorter arm is in good shape sometimes even strong, but generally the entire left side of the body is developing at a slower pace than the right. He continues to randomly fall forward without any reason or sometimes he just loses coordination. We had a medical treatment in the hospital- after which we saw on the contrary to an improvement, the deterioration in his psycho-emotional behavior. He became more nervous, lost his appetite and was sleeping worse at night. We also had massage courses and now we are going on another course of physiotherapy. Unfortunately, these efforts did not give any positive results- government run medical centers do not offer any individual approach to children with such problems. The private medical center that can provide individual rehabilitation for Ilya, and which has all the necessary specialists and the means to help him – has a two week treatment costing around- $600. To see improvements we need around 4-5 of these treatment courses per year. Unfortunately, our family can not pay this on our own- as only my husband is working and his salary, as well as help from friends is only enough to buy medicine, massages and pay for special shoes for Ilya. Despite all the predictions of doctors – Ilya is very well developed mentally. He likes to look at books – especially with animals and likes to draw his favorite character Bagheera from The Jungle Book. He is very smart and wants to run fast))) If you want join in helping us give him the opportunity for complete rehabilitation and a chance that his left leg will catch up to the right and his left hand will be just as the strong as his right- we would be infinitely grateful. Again, one treatment course costs $600, four times a year so the total cost we are trying to raise is $2,400. We are scheduled for the first round of treatment at the end of November so we need at least $600 by then. Thank you for your time and attention."
"Привіт! Мене звати Альона, моя сім'я мешкає в Україні, неподалік від міста Рівне. 23.10.2014 року в нашій сім'ї народився наш другий син Ілля. Після народження він був дуже неспокійний, міг дуже плакати годинами, погано їв і мав напружене тіло. Ми зверталися до лікарів - але вони казали ніяких проблем це просто неспокійна дитина. Коли в 1,3міс він пішов - я помітила що він майже не переставляє ліву ногу а просто тягне її за собою і також майже нічого не робить лівою рукою , вона постійно прижата до грудей , особливо коли він іде. Ще він часто падав в перед - просто без всяких причин. Ми звернулися в головну лікарню нашої області - де нас відразу направили на мрт і на інші дослідження. Після цього Іллі поставили діагноз- лівобічний геміпарез( одна з форм дцп)його ліва сторона через великий крововилив в шлуночок головного мозку відстає у розвитку від правої, ніжка - коротша на майже3см і це створює проблеми при ходьбі, також коротша рука і вона знаходиться в тонусі інколи в сильному, взагалі вся ліва частина тіла розвивається меншими темпами ніж права. В нього далі є спонтанні падіння вперед без всяких причин або він втрачає інколи координацію рухів. Ми проходили медикаментозний курс лікування в цій лікарні- після якого ми навпаки побачили погіршення в його психо- емоційній поведінці, він став більш нервовий, втратив апетит і став ще гірше спати вночі. Також ми проходили курси масажу і зараз ми збираємося на ще один курс лікувальної фізкультури. Нажаль всі ці зусилля не дають ніяких позитивних результатів- в центрах державних неможуть запропонувати індувідуальний підхід до діток з такими проблемами. Приватний центр який може надати індивідуальну реабілітацію для Іллі, в якому є всі необхідні спеціалісти і всі засоби - назвав суму за один курс на дві неділі- 600$, для того що мати покращення потрібно4-5 курсів на рік. Нажаль наша сім'я не може його оплатити самотужки- так як працює тільки мій чоловік і його зарплати також допомоги друзів вистачає щоб купити медикаменти, заплатити массаж і спеціальне взуття для Іллі. Ілля наш не дивлячись на всі прогнози лікарів - дуже гарно розвивається розумово, він любить дивитися книжки - особливо про тварин і малювати,його улюблений персонаж Багіра з Книги Джунглів, він дуже спритний і хоче швидко бігати)))Якщо ви захочете нам допомогти дати йому можливість пройти реабілітацію і отримати шанс що його ліва ніжка дожене праву а ліва рука буде така ж сильна як і права- ми будемо завжди вам безмежно вдячні. Our names are Olena Komlev and Andriy Komlev, our son is Ilya Komlev. We are currently living in a town near Rivne, Ukraine called Oleksandriya. We are good friends with Sebastian Harris, he lived and served with us for 1 year in Ukraine and was like family. The funds will be spent for treatments for my son Ilya. They cost about $600 per two week treatment and we will need around 4-5 treatments this year. The treatments are the best thing available at a private hospital here and will help Ilya’s left arm and leg catch up to the right. Due to doctor error he has a form of mild cerebral palsy due to bleeding in the brain at birth, which wasn’t caught early enough. His left side is weaker and developing more slowly than his right and the treatment is the only thing that can possible help reverse that while he is still young and give him a better chance at a normal future. Without treatment, the older he gets the more this difference in development will show itself. The funds will be directly transferred to our American missionary friend in Ukraine (Joseph Kader) who will withdraw the money and either bring it or transfer it to our bank card. We need the first payment by the end of November and we can show all necessary documents, receipts, or bills from the hospital. If you need more information please let us know.
