Support Jax Through Grief and PTSD; She Needs Us.

Donation protected
On Monday, October 15th, Dante De Cubellis tragically passed away. He was 39. Of the many people he left behind, one was his wife and unshakeably devoted soulmate Jax Smith.

We are looking for financial support to help Jax through this unimaginably difficult time.

In the week’s following his death, Jax has had to cope not only with the grief of losing her husband – someone she’s spent the last 10 years of her life with - but also with the trauma created by his death. All who knew them together, remember the ferocity with which they loved each other.

Supporting her through not only the physical pain of this sudden loss, but also the resulting PTSD has taken a huge amount of time and resources. The day Dante died Jax lost not only her love, but also her home.  Since then she has been staying with a close friend and has been supported (with time, food, walks, conversation and love) by a small but dedicated village of friends and family who’ve put aside many of their own commitments to ensure she’s never been (and continues to never be) alone during this crucial period of healing and transition.

She will not be returning to work until January, and in the meantime full mortgage payments for the home she shared with Dante (which she’s in the process of selling), housing her pets, deposits, bills, funeral fees, food, counselling and other expenses have added up quickly.

On Monday, November 21st she found a new one-bedroom apartment which she’ll be moving into slowly between December and January – adding the expense of a damage deposit, some furniture and an additional rent payment. Jax still has a significant amount of healing to engage in and right now her anxiety around money is distracting from that main priority.

On behalf of Jax Smith we are asking for your help.

We are asking for a financial donation (whatever you can contribute) to help Jax cover the expenses which have and are continuing to build up, so that when she finally moves into her new home in January, she will be able to do this without the stress of the new debt that’s incurred during this intense period of grief and healing.

We want to help her start over, with at least a clean financial slate. We need your help to do that.  Anything you can contribute would be enormously helpful.

If you would prefer to make an offline donation, please email us at bissonnette(dot)cm(at)gmail.com, and we’ll share the mailing address you can do this through.

Thank you.
